Chin Swee Temple–Woodblock Print

I was feeling creative today and produced this picture of Chin Swee Temple near Genting Highlands. It is supposed to look like a  Japanese woodblock print.

The Chinese characters in the seals at the top right say Malaysia Traveller (I hope!), the name of my other website. Since I am too thrifty to own Photoshop, I used BeFunky and PicMonkey to achieve this effect (they are both free). The Chinese translation came from Google Translate and the hanko’s (seals) were obtained from renshuu.org, also free.

Here was the original photo which appears on my Chin Swee post.

And here is another version with the woodblock effect.

I think they are not bad for a first effort. Have a go at making woodblock prints from your own photos and let me know how you get on.
