It’s the first laundry day in our new house near Kuala Lumpur and our washing has attracted a swarm of winged insects; flying ants I think.
Fortunately the bugs seem very drowsy (dying perhaps) and are easy to shake off.

they are called Kelkatu (or kalkatu) in Bahasa. In rural villages, it happens once a year or so…. and the house floor is full of them once we got up in the morning. They are also attracted to flourecence light at night. I never heard anyone been bitten by these creatures. Not dangerous, just annoying having to sweep the floor & flush the drain
Thanks for the local knowledge and good to know it only happens once a year.
